TRANSITIONING TO FALL

We all know I love a classic all black look.... as i'm sure most of you do too! Black gives off elegance and edge all in one. Three items I have been constantly grabbing towards this fall season have been a black leather blazer, my Luxxie black silk cami and AGOLDE jeans. All simple yet wearable pieces. I have been trying to gravitate towards buying staple pieces of good quality that will last me for many seasons to come. Opposed to wearing fast fashion all the time that will only last a few washes. Don't get me wrong I love a good Zara sweater but all i'm saying is slowly incorporating a long lasting silk cami or denim will really go along way in the evolution of your wardrobe!

DITCHING JEANS FOR WIDE LEGGED PANTS

Over the years I have acquired a large collection of skinny jeans and have always sworn by them for a flattering "suck you in" type of look. However, I have more recently started building a wide legged pant collection which in my opinion has slowly overtaken the skinny jean trend that has been relevant for years. Now we are shifting towards a comfortable and convertible piece for our summer wardrobes. Wide legged pants are flattering to all body types giving off a relaxed yet sophisticated look. Whether it be at the office or kicking back at a cocktail party you will be dressed to impress in the perfect pair of wide legged pants.

QUARENTINE SWEATSUITS

I'm sure I am not the only one who forgets what it feels like to be wearing jeans throughout this quarantine. I woke up this week trying to brainstorm how to still feel good and creative in what i'm wearing while social distancing and keeping safe. After sitting around in boring baggy clothes for a month it really gets to you, since what we wear reflects our overall moods and energy levels. I recently was scrolling through some websites and saw sweatsuits going for $150 + and was this close to buying one of my favorites but then realized how fun it would be to create my own one of a kind bleached sweatsuits and instantly placed a bulk order of some sets to make for my family and I.

Making a chic quarantine sweatsuit:

1. First, you want to hunt down a black crew neck or hoodie with matching black sweatpants (which is honestly harder than one would think due to so many tie dyeing trends going on right now) So I  suggest working with what you have in your closet already if you are unable to find any blank sets online.

2. Once you have your set all you need is some rubber bands and Clorox bleach mixed in a spray bottle with water.

3. Once you have your materials you then want to use the crinkle method in placing your hoodie and sweats in the rubber bands (make sure your set is dry and not damp).

4. Then spray away and set a timer for 10 minutes!

5. After 10 minutes you want to rinse our your set in the bath tub or shower until all the orange has been washed out and lastly throw your set into the washer and dryer on cold cycle!

OVERSIZED BLAZERS

It feels almost wrong writing this blog post during a time where so many people are in pain due to the Coronavirus. My heart goes out to anyone affected and is with those who are risking their health and safety to help others in this time. It is a very uncertain time for many reasons but I am confident that we all get through this together and become stronger for it!

With that being said, I am trying to stay sane quarantining at home by occupying myself with doing things I love which include getting back into writing blog posts, drawing (I purchased this Vogue coloring book and I haven't been able to put it down!), keeping up with practicing my Italian while also rewatching an all time favorite, Gossip Girl of course.

If you know me you know how much I love a good blazer moment... especially an oversized one that can be worn all year long. There was a point in time when blazers were strictly meant for the office and I love that overtime fashion has really pushed boundaries making today a time where anything goes, reinventing the meaning of how pieces are worn. I love a blazer look that has tailored and undone elements to it, by pairing a t-shirt and Doc Martens to make it more casual or a chic sweat set topped off with an oversized blazer and sneakers is always a go to!

Shop the look:
- Zara leather blazer  (For reference I sized up to a medium for a bit of a more oversized look) / Cropped version
- Prada bucket bag
- YSL T-shirt

THRIFTIN'

Thrifting for one of a kind designer pieces is honestly like a sport. Trying to win the game by taking home the prize but sometimes you take losses and others you score BIG time. Another Man's Treasure is just steps away from my apartment and my go to for all my vintage needs. Between their NJ and LA location they curate an unreal mix of high end vintage gems.

If I could leave you with one tip about thrifting it would be to circle and scan around one more time before leaving the store. I felt defeated and was about to give up last week when I thought I wouldn't find anything (which is also okay and expected when vintage shopping) until I took a last minute peek in this tucked away corner that homed three or four scarfs. I came across this YSL silky tan scarf and instantly fell in love. I knew I wanted to style it into a make shift headband and after a few YouTube tutorials I was able to confidently master the notorious scarf headband... and the rest was history.

Happy Weekend Loves,
