BAR CART DÉCOR

Ever since I moved into my new apartment I have been constantly searching online for the perfect home décor pieces. My latest obsession has been bar carts!! It took me a few months to find the perfect gold embellished one that I had so many times envisioned in my head but I finally came across it while aimlessly scrolling through Amazon and I fell in love with the look, size and price of this two tier gold cart! Bar carts are the perfect storage solution while also elevating any dull space creating a chic flare. I am a firm believer that creating an aesthetically pleasing space will help fuel your mind and life in becoming your best possible self and for me home décor does just that!

Here are my essential tips to styling the perfect bar cart:

Less is more.
Some prefer to stock their bar cart shelfs with unlimited bottles and glasses while some on the other hand opt to remaining minimal and strategic with what they place on their cart. While there is no right or wrong way to decorate your bar cart, for me my style falls somewhat in-between. With remaining organized and minimal while still making sure the space is filled with statement pieces that stay true to my style.

Your own personality.
Adding your own flare to home décor is what really makes it unique and true to yourself. Always remember that your guests are in your home and not in a bar, so have fun with adding a few signature touches that screams your name. For me, being a fashion fanatic lol I thought it only made sense for me to add some designer statement pieces like this chic Tom Ford Candle, Gucci X Angelica Hicks coasters and Chanel coffee table book

Bar Tools.
Your guests will know you mean business and are no amateur if your cart is stocked with a tool set.. I mean after all it wouldn't be a bar cart without the bar essentials. When looking for a tool set I wanted to stick with a gold, clean and modern look. William Sonoma has endless options but their gold set caught my eye instantly.

22

This past week I celebrated my 22nd birthday in New York City! Honestly once you hit the age of 21 I can definitely say the feeling of turning a year older just doesn't give you the excitement you once had... now all I can think about is the fact that I am a year closer to 30. However it is a good time to reflect on the past year and all that you have accomplished along with nailing down what you still would like to accomplish.
I was able to reflect on how at this point last year I was living abroad in Italy, which is still surreal to me. It gave me a sort of independence and cultural understanding that I am lucky to of gained at such a young age. I also realized that at age 21 I was able to finish college within four years and gain a degree in fashion, move to my dream place... NYC and score a job with a luxury fashion house. 21 was an amazing year that I was able to grow and bring my dreams to fruition and I cannot wait to see what 22 has in store.

STACK IT UP

Gold necklaces are a year round necessity and stacking them together will instantly elevate any look. I have always had my eye on vintage LV lockets but have never pulled the trigger and found one for the perfect price until I stumbled upon State of myne. This locket is super affordable compared to other LV vintage necklaces and is a staple necklace that you can pair with so many looks!

SOHO STROLLS

For fashion gurus and art enthusiests like myself Soho is like something out of your wildest dreams. From the cobblestone streets on every block to the infamous cast-iron architecture, there is something so aesthetically pleasing about the chic New York City neighborhood unlike any other. When I think of Soho I think modern, sleek, urban, boho, vintage and high-end all jumbled into one thought.

I have always been one to die over a good vintage find and love the thrill of not being able to predict which treasures you may find. There is also something so special about finding unique pieces that are most of the time one of a kind, with years of stories under their belt. This past year I have become very conscious of sustainability and trying to improve my personal carbon footprint. I believe that shopping for vintage clothing is the ultimate form of up cycling and repurposing clothing for a longer life cycle, so whenever I get the chance to go out and hunt for some new clothing I always make sure to make some stops at my favorite vintage spots. One of them being Another Man's Treasure Vintage. Located in the heart of Jersey City just blocks from my apartment is one of the best spots for Levi cutoffs like the ones pictured below!! These fit like a glove and will be a staple piece in my summer rotation. AMT also has iconic original band tee's, Emilio Pucci bodysuits, Chanel suits, honestly the options are endless you'll have to go see for yourself if you happen to be in Jersey City.

I paired the Levi cutoffs with the perfect plain white tee from the Hanes X RE/DONE collaboration. RE/DONE is another hot spot for repurposed Levi's on the more expensive side but definitely worth it if you are looking for timeless denim that will last you a lifetime. To make the look a little bit more on the feminim side I wore these Tony Bianco tan suede mules with clear vinyl upper and man made sole. These shoes are the perfect height and super easy to walk in once they are broken in after a few uses!

SECRET GARDEN

The Ocean House is one of Rhode Island's most iconic Victorian-style seaside resorts. It lies on the bluff of Watch Hill neighboring next to Taylor Swifts Rhode Island estate. Not only are there breathtaking beachfront views and multiple restaurants inside the hotel catering to all your dietary desires, my favorite part is the infamous secret champagne bar on the upper terrace showcasing my all time favorite champagne, Veuve Clicquot. I decided to make a trip home a few weekends ago to celebrate the 4th of July weekend with family and friends. Obviously had to stop by the Secret Garden for a mid day glass of bubbly in my summer staple Levi 501 mid-rise shorts and Cotton Candy LA silk slip dress that I tucked into my shorts for a tank top look.  (That I have had for ages so can't find a link to).
Happy Summer xoxo,

WINE TASTING

The past few months I have been actively trying to figure out what my next move is after graduating college last May. I decided to make the move down to right outside of New York City with my best friend, Kailah. I have been vigorously looking for apartments and jobs in the fashion and PR industry, which has not been the easiest task and has set me back on creatively doing what I love most, producing content and styling outfit inspiration.

This past weekend I was invited to the Vinho Verde Wine Experience that took place at Second NYC rooftop. It was an evening filled with music, wine, delicious food, networking with incredible people and more wine lol. I was amazed at the history that I learned about Vinho Verde. Vinho Verde is Portugal's largest and oldest wine region, with 19,000 grape growers farming over 51,000 acres of vineyards. What I found interesting was that Vinho Verde does not mean "green" wine. "Verde" refers to it being young wine due to the fact that the wine is released 3-6 months after harvest.

I wanted to keep my outfit simple and true to my style for the event, which mostly consists of black pieces. Commando, no lie has THE most comfortable clothing I have ever worn, this midi tube dress paired perfectly with my Pretty Little Thing silk button down that I tied to pull the look together.

TRANSITIONING YOUR WARDROBE

Summer is just around the corner and I am more than ready to get a tan and switch to dresses for a change. This black denim button up sleeveless dress from Zara is the perfect transitional piece from spring to summer. It is thick enough to keep you warm and you can easily layer a long sleeve under to cover your pale arms like I did lol. I kept the look casual with my go to pair of Air Force 1's and a white Naked Wardrobe bodysuit, my wardrobe staple I literally have it in every single color.

Helpful tips for transitioning your closet from spring to summer:
  1. Organize your closet
  •  First and foremost this is where everyone should start when transitioning seasons. Putting your winter coats away in boxes or at the back end of your closet so you have room to see all of your summer pieces is key! Otherwise you will be stuck aimlessly looking through your clothes for hours trying to pick out what to wear. Trust me this has been a reoccurring thing for me until I decided to finally commit to organizing each season.
     2.   Basics
  • Basics play an important role in transitioning your wardrobe. From solid colored bodysuits and t-shirts like this Naked Wardrobe one that I am able to wear it in the fall and winter but also use it as a simple transitional piece into spring and summer on cooler days. Basics t-shirts and blouses give you the ability to create new outfits that you already have in your closet but may not have thought to pair with.
     3.  Ditch the layers
  • I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets a little bit of separation anxiety when hanging up the leather jacket for the season once the warm weather hits but that warm weather calls for lighter jackets, kimonos, tank dresses and most importantly getting that summer glow!
Hope these tips help you start to transition to your summer fits!

B&W 2.0

A white t-shirt is a classic staple needed in every wardrobe, male or female regardless of age. They are comfortable and match with any outfit, what more could you ask for? I live for this Comme Des Garcons one not only because of the cute little logo but more importantly because it isn't see through like every other white t-shirt I own!! I'm sure I'm not the only girl out there who struggles with finding a white t-shirt that isn't see through.

I paired the white t with my favorite pair of jeans at the moment, the high rise coated vendetta J Brand X Steph Shep jeans. Which I literally haven't taken off since I got them last month. High rise is my go to style for jeans for a flattering fit and allows you to eat all the food you want without seeing your food baby lol. I kept the black and white vibe going with my mini Opening Ceremony backpack and White Tony Bianco booties.

SNAKE PRINT

The fashion industry has cycled through all sorts of animal prints over past seasons from Leopard print to Dalmatian and Zebra...the list goes on. It looks like Snake print has finally taken the fashion world by storm on a more recent note. While some may say the print can be over bearing if you incorporate too much of it in your outfit, I don't disagree. I love to pair a print with a solid color to have the top stand out but also be balanced with a dark tone like these black J Brand x Steph Shep jeans. The best part about this in demand print is that it looks good in every shade out there. My personal favorite is a tan snake print with hints of green and black like my I.AM.GIA bodysuit pictured below.

BLACK. NERO. NIOR.

I have a huge appreciation for street art and the ability people have to create colorful artwork on a blank surface. I went to Fort Weatherill in Jamestown, RI to find some unique wall art for a switch up of scenery.

No matter how much my style evolves, black will always be my go to color. I swear I try my best to branch out and mix up the colors I'm wearing but I always find myself gravitating back to a chic all black look. Some tips for my girls & guys out there who love to wear black as much as me...

Keep it season appropriate
  • Black is the perfect color to wear all year round as long as you are sporting the right season. My personal Fall/Winter go to is a black leather jacket.
Fit is key
  • Whether you're going for a skin tight body-con look or an oversized vibe always make sure the fit is on point.
Mix up the fabrics & textures
  • This is one of my favorites. Although wearing all black can be boring to some, it's not if you are mixing in different textures. For this look I paired Wear commando patent leather leggings and a RtA Mohair fuzzy sweater for some contrast.

DW

I'm sure you've all seen my instagram posts with this gorgeous white watch and cuff bracelet. I partnered up with the iconic timeless yet elegant watch and accessories brand Daniel Wellington. All of the watches have a minimalistic yet refined touch to them which makes them so appealing to the eye in my opinion.

The amazing thing about these watches is that the straps are interchangeable so its like you can have a new watch every day of the week if you wanted! Running from March 20th- April 10th you can get a free interchangeable strap for your watch and with my code JORDANC15 you can score 15% off! You literally can't find a better deal than that!!

I choose the white and gold classic petite Bondi 32mm watch with the classic cuff bracelet. This watch has become a staple to my everyday look and I hope you choose to have it be apart of yours!!

MIAMI FOR THE NIGHT

Pretty Little Thing is one of my favorite sties to grab some sexy, price friendly clothing. I picked up this off the shoulder mustard colored dress for my quick 3 day trip to Miami this past weekend. Mustard is a color I have been loving lately especially for blondes, it compliments sun kissed skin so nicely! I also fell in love with the ballon sleeves on this dress, I wanted to switch up my usual black dress to something more fun and colorful. I paired the dress with my go to YSL crossbody and Schutz nude open toed heels.

FENDI PRINTS ON.

As much as I love dressing comfy and experimenting with different street style looks, I also love to occasionally dress up in the only color that seems to ever be in my closet, black lol. Blazer dresses are one of my on going obsessions at the moment, I am currently on the hunt for a bigger more oversized one. This one is perfectly tailored to fit the body like a glove and perfect for any party or event. I found this jet black blazer dress when I was living in Florence, Italy at a store called Dixie . Their website is coming soon, but the clothing they have includes chic must haves for any city girl. I paired the dress with my all time favorite Fendi "Forever Fendi" tights, Schutz pumps and YSL crossbody bag.

STREET CHIC

One of my favorite styling techniques is mixing classy with street wear. For instance, pairing glamours chic royal blue pumps with a Off White racing top and distressed Re/Done light wash jeans and a black classic puffer jacket. I love pairing the unexpected and having fun with styling outfits, for the sole reason that the clothing you choose to wear and choose to style together is a representation of who you are without using words to describe yourself. This is probably one of my top favorite things about fashion, how we as individuals have the opportunity to wear anything we want and having what we wear be a representation of our own unique personality.
